The New Jersey Elks State Project is Elks Camp Moore.

Tucked away in the hill of the Ramapo Mountains,Elks Camp Moore offers a fun filled vacation away from home for children with special needs. A week at Elks Camp Moore is a remarkable experience not soon to be forgotten. The primary goal of the camp is to further develop the recreational and social skills of each child. In a relaxed and accepting atmosphere , each camper experiences new adventures, lasting friendships, and opportunities that promote independence and greater self-confidence.

Campers attend Elks Camp Moore at no charge to the families. Throughout the plunge season, each Elks lodge helps raise the funds needed to cover all camp costs. The lodge that raises the most during plunge season is announced at the John Sentner Memorial Plunge. The John Sentner Memorial Plunge is named after PSP John Sentner, the man who had the vision of Elks plunging into the Atlantic Ocean in the middle of winter to raise funds for the camp.

The 2025 plunge is scheduled to be held on February 1, 2025 at Martell’s Tiki Bar, 308 Boardwalk, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.

The Toms River Elks Lodge has been amongst the top three lodges in the state in terms of fundraising for Camp Moore for seven years now. The Plunge Committee, chaired by Valerie Marsden-Gray, strives to continue this tradition and is asking for your help in making this year the most successful plunge yet.

The first fundraising event planned for this plunge season is the Celebrations Vendor Market on Saturday May 4, 2024.

Everyone loved Santa so much we’re flying him in from the North Pole especially for our Christmas in July vendor event. This event will feature a tricky tray, 65 tables, a professional photographer and Santa!

In August we’re going to have fun out of the sun at the Plunge Bowling Bash! 2 hours of bowling and lunch are included.

Everyone loved Designer Handbag Bingo last year so we’re bringing it back again this year on Sunday October 20, 2024. A Mega 50/50 will be drawn at this event.

Sunday December 14, 2024 will bring the return of another favorite, Brunch with Santa. A Mega 50/50 will be drawn at this event.
